英語近義詞(12):due to,because of等

在我們?nèi)粘５拈喿x和影視作品中，經(jīng)常會看到due to、because of、owing to這些表示由于或者因為的短語，那么它們在使用上有什么區(qū)別呢？

due to

due to引導的短語在句子中可做補語、狀語也可作定語：

Your failure is due to negligence.

The force due to gravitation causes objects to have weight.

There are many complications due to such factors as land and sea distributions.

because of

because of所構成的介詞短語在句中通常做狀語：

He didn't go out because of the rain.

owing to

owing to構成介詞短語在句子中通常做狀語，但也可作補語，這時與due to通用：

They decided to postpone the trip, owing to bad weather.

在作狀語時，習慣上用逗號與句子或其他成分分開。

這三種表達方法在句子成分上有所不同，大家在學習過程當中，一定要注意暗含著因果關系，但沒有“因為”等字樣的句子，在用英語表達時，不妨考慮以上三種表達方式。
