一：拒絕無謂的單詞和詞組
1.一些不必要的單詞或詞組根本不能為句子帶來任何相關的或重要的信息 ， 完全可以被刪掉 。
比如：When all things are considered, young adults of today live more satisfying lives than those of their parents, in my opinion 。
這句話當中的“when all things are considered”和“in my opinion“都顯得多余 。完全可以去掉 。改為：

2.替換無聊的表達 ， 故意寫出復雜的長難句 ， 但是讓整個句子顯得特別冗長 ， 其實并不會給你的雅思作文加分 。
例如：Due to the fact that our grandparents were under an obligation to help their parents, they did not have the options that young people have at this point in time 。
“due to the fact that”就是一個很典型的繁瑣的表達方式的例子 ， 可以替換 ， 簡化為下面的表達方式：
Because our grandparents were obligated to help their parents, they did not have the options that young people have now 。
二：拒絕重復詞匯和表達
1.雅思寫作評分標準中有一點：豐富性 。很多考生做不到在寫作中使用更豐富的詞匯和表達 ， 也就與高分失之交臂 。有的時候雖然詞匯沒有重復 ， 但意思卻有重復 。這時候可以做一些簡化的工作 。
例如下面這個例子：The farm my grandfather grew up on was large in size 。
large對一個farm來說就是size方面的large ， 所以in size可以去掉 ， 改為：
The farm my grandfather grew up on was large 。
更簡潔的表達方式為：
My grandfather grew up on a large farm 。
2.有時一個詞組可以用一個更簡單的單詞來替換
例如：My grandfather has said over and over again that he had to work on his parents' farm 。
這里的over and over again就可以改為repeatedly ， 顯得更為簡潔：
My grandfather has said repeatedly that he had to work on his parents' farm 。
2雅思寫作怎樣才能有深度
有新意的表達離不開辭藻的堆砌 ， 不是說讓你將一些新奇的詞語一股腦兒的全部用上 ， 而是在適當?shù)臅r候用有新意的詞語會讓閱卷人有眼前一亮的感覺 。
新鮮的詞語哪里來?當然是積累了 ， 單詞一直都是考雅思的考生們必過的關卡 ， 畢竟“包里有糧 ， 心里不慌” 。
你能夠?qū)⒏咧械脑~匯量和大學的詞匯量全部掌握 ， 大概4000-5000個詞左右 ， 基本寫作也是沒有什么問題了 。
除了基礎單詞的掌握外 ， 我們在寫作的時候要運用一些“小心機” 。
一是學會變換詞性 ， 比如說 “fluctuate” ， “fluctuation” 和“fluctuating” ， 我們的考生就會認為是同一個詞 ， 都表示波動、起伏 。但是在考官眼里 ， 這是三個詞 。
它們雖然表達同樣的意思 ， 但是分別是用了動詞、名詞、形容詞 ， 是不同的詞!所以 ， 這是一個擴充詞匯量的突破口 ， 在我們原有詞匯的基礎上 ， 進行詞性的變換 。
二是學會反義詞的應用 ， 比如A商品比B商品好用 ， 也可以說成B商品沒有A商品好用 ， 這樣的逆向思維 ， 會讓人多花時間揣摩 。
三是同義詞的替換 。比如Oppose to = object to = against ， Claim = state = assert = argue 。一些平常詞用多了就沒有新意了 ， 相反用同義詞去替換會讓人覺得你是一個有“水準”的考生 。
