熊大跳槽去了外企，很不習慣，所以周末約上同行業的老前輩一起聊天，熊大說太好了，您是行業的老前輩，我要向您多請教，結果英文說成了old staff，對方一聽，竟然說自己是old staff，也不樂意了，小聲嘀咕I’m not old!

1、老員工不是old staff!

old作形容詞有這么幾個意思

? (NOT YOUNG/NEW) having lived or existed for many years

老的;年老的;古老的

? from a period in the past

過去的;舊時的，從前的，以前的

? (especially of a friend) known for a long time

(尤指朋友)老的，結識久的

old friend就是認識很久的老朋友，那么除了上面這幾個意思可以用old外，其它時候說道“老”我們就要認真考慮一下，最好換個詞來形容了。

說別人是old staff，和我們說上歲數的老阿姨老爺爺差不多，很不禮貌哦，在國外也盡量避免直接面對別人說old man，可以用“the aged”表示“老人”

所以老員工也可以說，是資歷深，工作時間久，工作上的前輩。以下幾種表達是皮卡丘比較推薦的。

①a longtime staff member=來了很久的員工

②an experienced staff member=經驗豐富的員工

③experienced employee

④Senior staff=高級員工

例：

William is asking senior staff to bring juniors to client meetings.

William要求資深職員帶上新員工參加客戶會議。

級別高的

●senior management 高級管理層

②older and more experienced than the other members of a team

比其他成員年長的;比其他成員更有經驗的

①low or lower in rank

地位(或等級)較低的;年資較淺的

②connected with or involving young people below a particular age

初級的(低于特定年齡的)

●junior orchestra 初級組管弦樂團

就像中文里的學長學姐，英文沒有對應的說法，但是口語里也是可以用senior，學弟學妹可以用junior.
