Packing for Kindergarten收拾幼兒園書包

Mom: Sweetie, you will be going to kindergarten tomorrow.

媽媽：寶貝，明天你就要上幼兒園了。

我國的幼兒園通常被翻譯為kindergarten，美國叫daycare、preschool，英國叫nursery，深入了解見文章結尾。

Mom is going to pack the things you need to bring in your little backpack.

媽媽把你需要帶的東西裝進你的小書包。

Do you want to pack with me?

你想和我一起收拾嗎？

Child: Yes, I do.

寶寶：想。

Mom: Okay, lets take a look at the list your teacher sent over.

媽媽：好呀，咱們看看老師發過來的清單。

You need to bring an extra set of clothes, some underwear, a pair of socks, and a pair of indoor shoes.

你得帶一套備用衣服、一條小內褲、一雙襪子和一雙室內鞋。

If you accidentally stain or wet your clothes, there is something to change into.

如果你不小心弄臟或弄濕自己的衣服，還能有一套可以換的。

Child: Thank you, Mom, but I wont get my clothes dirty or wet.

寶寶：謝謝媽媽，但是我不會弄臟或弄濕衣服的。

Mom: Mmm, just in case.

媽媽：嗯，以防萬一嘛。

For example, when you eat, you may get food on your clothes.

比如說你吃飯的時候，可能會把飯蹭到衣服上。

When you go to the bathroom, you may pee on your pants.

你去廁所的時候，可能會尿到褲子上。

Child: I see, but Ill try not to.寶寶：明白，但是我會盡量注意的。

Mom: Also, although you are already potty-trained, there is still a chance you wet your pants. 媽媽：另外，雖然你已經完成如廁訓練了，你還是有可能尿褲子。

So every time you need to pee, you should immediately tell your teacher.

所以你每次有尿意的時候，要馬上告訴老師。

Dont be embarrassed, and dont wait until you cant hold it.

不要不好意思，也不要等到憋不住的時候再往廁所跑。

Mom: Great! Lets go on!

Take your water bottle with you.

帶上你的水瓶。

The teacher might remind you to drink water,

老師可能會提醒你們喝水，

but you should also remember to drink more water yourself.

但是你自己也要記著多喝水。

Child: Okay, Mom, I will use my own water bottle.

寶寶：好的，媽媽，我會用自己的水瓶。

I wont use others bottles or give mine to others.

我不用別人的水瓶，也不把自己的給別人用。

Mom: Correct! That way its more hygienic.

媽媽：對啦！這樣才衛生。

Child: Mom, do we need to pack my little pillow and covers?

寶寶：媽媽，用不用裝上我的小枕頭和被子？

You said I have to take an afternoon nap in kindergarten.

你說在幼兒園還得睡午覺啊。

Mom: Right, the kindergarten gave a set of bedding to every child.

媽媽：是的，幼兒園給每個小朋友都發了一套被褥呢。

I will embroider your name on every piece.

我會把你的名字繡在每一件上面。

（30多年前，小雅上幼兒園時媽媽給繡的，已傳給下一代，有點泛黃，滿滿的80年代感）

Child: Mom, you are so good at doing handicrafts.

寶寶：媽媽，你真擅長做手工。

Handicrafts和crafts都是手工的意思，前者更強調一定的技巧、水平。

Oh, almost forgot.

哦，差點忘了。

Can I take my crayons, scissors, and glue sticks?

我可以帶上我的蠟筆、剪刀和膠棒嗎？

I want to draw and do crafts with the teachers and other children!

我想跟老師和小朋友們一起畫畫、做手工呢！

Mom: There are more colorful crayons and craft tools in your class, way more than yours!

媽媽：教室里有更多五顏六色的蠟筆和手工用品呢，比你的多多了！

Youll love it.

你一定會喜歡的。

Child: Wow! Really?

寶寶：哇！真的啊？

Mom: Yes! When you come back, will you tell Mom about your day at kindergarten?

媽媽：是呀！等你回來了，給媽媽好好講講你在幼兒園里的事情好嗎？

Child: Sure.寶寶：當然。

Mom: Were almost done packing.

媽媽：咱們馬上就收拾好了。

I also put in a pack of tissues and a bag of wipes for you.

我還給你放了一包面巾紙和一包濕紙巾。

If you need any, you can get it from your bag.

你需要的話，可以自己去包里取。

When you arrive at kindergarten tomorrow, the teacher will show you the cubby with your name on it.

明天到了幼兒園，老師會指給你寫著你名字的小格子。

Just put your bag there.

把書包放在那里就可以了。

Child: Okay, Mom, I cant wait to go to kindergarten!

寶寶：好的，媽媽，我已經等不及上幼兒園了！
